Billing policy:
Riverside Health is a mixed-billing medical practice. Consultation fees may vary depending on the appointment length, complexity and services provided.
Patients with a valid Medicare card who meet the following eligibility criteria will be bulk billed:
- Children under 16 years of age
- Pensioner Concession Card holders
- Healthcare Card holders
- Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card holders
Some consultations, procedures, medical examinations and forms may attract a private fee and may not be eligible for a Medicare rebate. These can include iron infusions, aviation medicals, commercial driver medicals, employment medicals, workers’ compensation services and certain minor procedures.
Payment is required in full on the day of your appointment. Where a Medicare rebate applies, it can usually be submitted electronically and paid into your nominated bank account.
Please contact reception before booking if you would like information about the likely fee for your appointment. Your doctor will advise you of any additional costs before proceeding whenever possible.
Patients without Medicare
Patients who do not hold a valid Medicare card will be required to pay the full consultation fee on the day of their appointment. Please bring your private health insurance or overseas visitor health cover card, if applicable. You may be able to claim part of the consultation fee directly from your insurer.
Cancellation policy:
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please cancel or reschedule at least two hours before the appointment time. Cancellations made less than two hours before the appointment, or failure to attend without notice, may incur a $50 cancellation fee.
As cancellation fees are not covered by Medicare, they must be paid by the patient. Further appointments may not be available until the outstanding fee has been paid.
We understand that emergencies and unexpected circumstances can occur. Please contact our reception team as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.
